Here’s how the Social Divas WhatsApp group is set up to keep things organised and running smoothly:

Group Name: SocialDivas – Fabulous Women 50+

This is our virtual hub where all the magic happens and the giggles never end.

Group Admins: Robyn, Prue, and Kim

We’re here to help with any questions or concerns you might have.  Think of us as your social fairy godmothers.

Group Announcements: Links to the Social Divas website where the T&Cs are posted and pinned to the top.

From time to time, administrative Announcements will be posted here, highlighted by Bridget Jones trying to get your attention at the microphone!

Event Groups: These are special interest Groups which help catagorise the event information – so details can be easily found. e.g. Book Club – pertains to all things Book Club. If you would like a new Event Group started, just contact Kim directly.

General Discussion: is for “general discussion”, the intent is to keep chit-chat out of the Event Groups. This is a great place to post irreverant minutia that is a crack-up to share.

 

 

WhatsApp Profile Pics: Darling Divas, let’s keep our WhatsApp profiles fabulous and fun! A personal image of your radiant face should be used as your profile picture. We want to see those beautiful smiles and fabulous looks! No hiding behind a flower pot or your cat’s latest nap pose. Remember, we’re here to connect with each other, not play detective. So, let your personality shine through that profile pic – we want to recognise you when we bump into you at events!

Event Planning: Members can freely post about upcoming events, gatherings, and activities.

Event details should include date, time, location, and any costs involved.

Monitor RSVPs to know who’s attending and keep everything organized.

Attendance: Confirmed attendance is key! If you RSVP to a paid event, you’re responsible for the ticket cost, even if you need to drop out later.

Onselling the ticket is on you, darling!

Think of it like a sparkly pair of shoes – if you buy them, you’ve got to rock them or find someone else who will.

Friendly Reminders: Proactivity in event planning and attendance is crucial. Respect everyone’s time and efforts. Last-minute cancellations can dampen the fun. Remember, flakiness is best reserved for pastries, not friendships.

 

WhatsApp Etiquette:

Stay on Topic: Keep chats relevant and focused. If you want to have a chatty, off subject conversation with someone, start a direct thread with that person outside the group.

Additionally, bank details should be shared in a 1:1 message and NOT in the group thread.

Security: No posting personal information. Protect your privacy and respect others’ too.

Avoid Divisive Topics: Let’s keep our chats fun and light — no politics or religion debates here. We’re here for the laughs, not the lectures.

No Spamming: Avoid repetitive messages, links, or ads. 

Be Kind: Remember to be thoughtful and considerate. If you wouldn’t say it over coffee, maybe rethink it. Be a gem, not a drama queen.

Timing: No late-night or early-morning messages unless it’s super urgent. Trust us, nobody wants to hear their phone ding at 3 am… unless you’ve just won the lottery. In that case, share away!

Membership: New members join through recommendations and are not automatically admitted.

WhatsApp Access Links for new members can only come from an Administrator: Kim, Prue, or Robyn.

We will be open to new members in February 2025 with a cap at 70 max. during the year.

If you’d like to introduce someone, give them Kim’s contact details on WhatsApp and we’ll walk them through the process.

Zero Tolerance Policy: “Mean Girl” behavior won’t be tolerated. Report any issues to Robyn, Prue, or Kim.

One strike, and you’re out. We’re here to build each other up, not tear each other down. Let’s keep the drama on Netflix, not in our group.
